The Ghana Police Service has announced popular Ghanaian dance-hall artiste, Charles Nii Armah also known as Shatta Wale have been arrested.

The Police made the announcement in a twitter post sighted by GhanaPlus.com.

His arrest comes shortly after two of his boys, Kojo Owusu Koranteng, also known as Nana Dope and Eric Venator, alias Gangee were napped by the police in connection to the allege attack on his life by an unknown gun man on Monday.

A report by the Ghana Police Service said, the celebrated artiste turned himself in to the Police and is currently assisting with investigations over his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic.

Shatta Wale shot by unknown gunmen

The Ghanaian media, on Monday, October 18, reported the self acclaimed dance-hall king had been shot by unknown men.

The report comes some weeks after it was reported a man of God had prophesied in a viral video that the celebrated music icon would be shot dead and that also on October 18, just like South African reggae musician Lucky Philip Dube.

Lucky Dube was shot and killed by assailant on October 18, 2007 in Rosettenville , a suburb of Johannesburg.

Shooting hoax

However, the  allege shooting turn out to be a hoax as the ‘My Level’ hit maker spoke in a Facebook post shortly after the police reported they had launched an investigation into the development.

According to him, he had gone into hiding for fear of his life and would not come out until the laws of the country.

He bemoaned the Police Service did not act when the man of God in question made the death prophecies about his life.

The development had been widely condemned by Ghanaians.

Notably names in the showbiz industry including, the grand papa of rap music, Reggie Rockstone in reacting to it said the prank was unacceptable.

He described it as not funny adding, nobody calls death upon his life, especially, when there had been several death pronouncement upon his life.
