I’ll bridge the gap between males and females in the music industry
Eno Barony, the Best Rap Performance awardee at the 2021 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) has said that God brought her as saviour in the music industry to bridge the gap between males and females.
“I feel like God brought me as a saviour in the Ghana music industry as the first woman to put a bridge between the females and the males,” she told Amansan Krakye in an interview.
According to the ‘God is a Woman’ hitmaker, who is the first female to win such a category at the VGMA after breaking the jinx of male dominance, she’s now an example for upcoming female rappers in the music industry.
She remarked on Kastle FM in Cape Coast “I think that very soon a female will be able to win Best Rap Performance again at the VGMA because when I came fighting to be recognized I wasn’t just doing it for myself.
“Because in everything someone needs to start for others to continue so if I didn’t do it there would still be that hole but now that the hole has been filled I feel like it’s going to be easier for upcoming female rappers to penetrate,” she added.
“Right now we have an example when we talk about female rapper but first we didn’t have any so it will happen that more females will win the best rapper at the VGMA so just watch out,” Eno Barony concluded.
