Professor Stephen Kwaku Asare popularly known as Kwaku Azar has argued that late Veteran Highlife artiste Nana Ampadu deserves a state burial.

Widespread reports early Tuesday (yesterday) indicated that popular legendary high life musician, Nana Kwame Ampadu has passed on at the age of 76.

Nana Ampadu died on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at about 6am, reports say. According to reports, Nana Ampadu has been sick for sometime now but could not confirm what killed him.

Prof Kwaku Azar believes with news confirming the death, it is important for the state to take over the burial of the man he described as a “storyteller” with his songs such as Emelia, Agatha , Obra, Oman Bo Adwo among others.

“Nobody told a story better or gave sounder advice than he did. From Ebe Te yie, Obra, Oman Bo Adwo, Mother, Assasie Aban, Emelia, Agatha to all those over 800 songs that he wrote and sang and danced to. He was simply the Odwontofoohene! The evergreen legend! The Professor whose students include Teacher, Joe Dee, Eddie Donkor (Atsikoooooo) etc.”

Man came to do some but not to do all! You did it all. On behalf of his millions of fans, we call for a state burial for Nana!
