20/21 Ghana Premier League: Champions Hearts of Oak to pocket GHS250,000 as prize money
Hearts of Oak will pocket GHS250,000 for becoming Champions of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.
As can be recalled, Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku before the start of the season announced that a sum of GHS250,000 has been set aside for any club that wins the league title.
“The winner of the 2020/21 Premier League will earn GHS250,000 in prize money. The prize money is an increase from the GHS80,000 received by the last winner of the Ghana Premier League Aduana Stars in the 2016/17 season,” Kurt Okraku said.
Having impressed in the second round of the season in particular to become Champions of the Ghana Premier League today, Hearts of Oak will now earn the above-mentioned sum of money.
Besides the cash sum, the Phobians will also be entitled to 40 gold medals. These medals will be shared amongst the players and technical team members.
Meanwhile, winners Hearts of Oak will next season get to play in the CAF Champions League.
