2021/22 Ghana Premier League matchday 12 preview: Hearts travel to Bibiani, Kotoko host Ashgold
The 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season will enter week 12 this weekend with all scheduled nine matches expected to be cleared.
Gradually as the season progress, the first round of the Ghanaian top-flight league will soon come to an end.
This weekend, Medeama SC and Berekum Chelsea will play the first fixture of matchday 12.
That encounter will be staged at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa on Friday, January 7, 2022.
The home team is determined to secure the win to boost chances of climbing into the top four of the league table.
Predicted scoreline:
Medeama SC 2-0 Berekum Chelsea.
Later on Saturday, January 8, 2022, there will be two matches played. The first will be the game between Accra Lions FC and WAFA SC.
That game is scheduled to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium and will kick off at 15:00GMT.
Both Accra Lions FC and WAFA SC have struggled this season and will fight to amass the maximum three points.
Predicted scoreline:
Accra Lions 1-2 WAFA SC.
Elsewhere on the same day, defending champions Hearts of Oak will be in action when the team plays as a guest to Gold Stars in Bibiani.
The fixture will be played at the Duns Park.
Predicted scoreline:
Gold Stars 0-2 Hearts of Oak.
Finally, on Sunday, the remaining six matches on matchday 12 of the Ghana Premier League will be cleared.
At the Papa Kwasi Nduom Stadium, struggling Elmina Sharks will host Aduana Stars in a game that should be exciting to watch.
With the form of the away team, it is likely they will thump the hosts at the end of 90 minutes.
Predicted scoreline:
Elmina Sharks 0-3 Aduana Stars.
At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the two top clubs in the Ashanti Region will lock horns at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Due to the form of Asante Kotoko and the desire to win the league this season, the team is likely to fight to brush aside Ashanti Gold SC.
It should however be noted that it will be a tough meeting.
Predicted scoreline:
Asante Kotoko 2-1 Ashanti Gold SC.
On the same Sunday, league leaders King Faisal will be in action. The team from Kumasi will visit the Ohene Ameyaw Park to take on inconsistent Eleven Wonders.
A win for King Faisal will enhance the team’s chances of lifting the Ghana Premier League.
Predicted scoreline:
Eleven Wonders 1-2 King Faisal.
Matchday 12 of the 2021//22 Ghana Premier will be completed when games between Dreams FC v Legon Cities, and Bechem United v RTU are played.
Both matches will be played with a kick-off time of 15:00GMT.
