2021/22 Ghana Premier League matchday 18: Legon Cities FC v Hearts of Oak preview
The Ghana Premier League continues this weekend with Hearts of Oak set to play as a guest to Legon Cities FC on Saturday afternoon.
The second round of the 2021/22 Ghanaian top-flight league officially commenced on Friday afternoon when WAFA SC locked horns with King Faisal.
At the end of an exciting contest at the Sogakope Red Bull Arena, King Faisal secured a 2-1 win after putting up a strong performance throughout the game.
Today, the scheduled matches continue with Legon Cities FC hosting defending champions Accra Hearts of Oak.
The first encounter between the two teams last year ended in a goalless stalemate at the Accra Sports Stadium.
With the dynamics different and the Phobians now eager to secure points to have a chance to defend the title, this could end with a different scoreline.
In the last five matches of Hearts of Oak, the team has only won one, losing two and drawing the other two as well.
Amid the worrying times, the Phobians today come up against an inconsistent opponent that has performed better in the last five outings.
The Royals go into this clash on the back of two wins, one defeat, and two draws from the last five games.
While that may not matter in today’s match, it is a confidence booster for Coach Maxwell Konadu and his players.
Predicted scoreline:
Legon Cities FC 0-2 Hearts of Oak.
Venue and time:
Today’s contest is scheduled to be staged at the El-Wak Stadium. The game will kick off at 15:00GMT.
