2021/22 Ghana Premier League matchday 19: Karela Utd come from behind to beat Ashgold 2-1
Karela United on Sunday afternoon came from behind to dish out a 2-1 defeat to Ashanti Gold SC in the Ghana Premier League.
The team from Anyinase today hosted the side from Obuasi in a matchday 19 encounter of the ongoing 2021/22 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.
In a game that lived up to expectations, Ashanti Gold SC had the lead after just 15 minutes into the first half.
It was all thanks to midfielder Eric Esso who scored with a fantastic effort to wrap up a good team move.
The lead despite lasting for over 15 minutes, was not intact at the end of the first half. A Kelvin Andoh equalizer in the 37th minute restored parity for Karela United.
After recess, the attacker came back to continue haunting Ashanti Gold SC. Eventually, the former Asante Kotoko winger netted hi second of the afternoon to seal a 2-1 win for Karela United against the Miners.
The win lifts Karela United to 7th on the Ghana Premier League table with Ashgold SC dropping to 13th on the log.
