2021/22 Ghana Premier League Week 17: Match Report – Daniel Adjetey’s strike hands Great Olympics late win over Elmina Sharks
Great Olympics had to wait until the dying embers of the game to defeat relegation-threatened Elmina Sharks at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The Dade boys inflicted a 1-0 win over the Elmina-based club in matchday 17 of the Ghana Premier League.
Daniel Adjetey’s injury-time goal ensured that Great Olympics ended the first round with a win at the expense of bottom-of-the-table Elmina Sharks.
Adjetey scored in the 91st minute to settle the encounter.
The much-anticipated game seems to have ended in a draw but proved to be hungrier as they scored late to secure all points at stake.
Sharks will feel disappointed as they put up a strong performance.
Olympics now sit on the 3rd position with 28 points trailing league leaders Kotoko with 8 points.
Meanwhile Sharks finish the first-round bottom and they must improve in the second round to avoid being relegated at the end of the season.
