2021/22 Ghana Premier League Week 21: Match Report – Bibiani Goldstars 1-0 Elmina Sharks
Bibiani Goldstars have deepened the woes of Elmina Sharks with a 1-0 win in matchday 21 of the Ghana Premier League.
Coach Michael Osei’s outfit recovered from the 5-0 humiliation against Kotoko last weekend to beat Elmina Sharks who are battling relegation in the ongoing campaign.
Godfred Kyei’s only goal in the 40th minute propelled the Bibiani-based club to victory at the Duns Park on Sunday afternoon.
Goldstars and Sharks hoped to win to return to winning ways after suffering defeat in their last games Kotoko and Bechem United respectively.
But it was Goldstars who emerged as winners with a narrow win over the embattled Elmina Sharks.
The game seemed to be balanced despite Goldstars opening the scoring before the break.
In the game, coach Kobina Amissah and his charges hoped to win to keep their relegation survival hopes alive but Goldstars proved to be a stronger side as they secure all points at stake.
Goldstars have moved from the 14th position on the league log to 12th position whereas Sharks remain bottom with 12 points after 21 matches.
Elmina Sharks will now have to double their effort if they are to survive relegation with 13 matches to end the campaign.
