2021/22 Ghana Premier League week17: Match Preview – Great Olympics vs Elmina Sharks
Great Olympics will take on relegation-threatened side Elmina Sharks in the final match of the first half of the Ghana Premier League campaign.
The first round of the domestic top-flight comes to an end this weekend with an intriguing fixtures.
The Dade boys who defeated city rivals Hearts of Oak to claim the bragging right last Sunday will hope to maintain their winning run in matchday 17 against Elmina Sharks who are struggling in this campaign.
Olympics beat the Phobians narrowly with an impressive performance and will hope to deepen the woes of Sharks.
The Elmina-based club are bottom on the league table and a defeat against Olympics will not speak well for the club. They must negotiate for a point if they are keen about maintaining their Premier League status.
Olympics have won two, drew two and lost one in their last five games and currently sit 5th position with 25 points.
Sharks shockingly defeated Ghana Premier League title candidate Kotoko 2-1 last Monday and will draw inspiration from the win against the Accra-based club.
They have lost three, drew one and won one of their last five games.
Kobina Amissah and his charges will struggle against Olympics who are keen about finishing in the top four clubs at the end of the season but a good display with a touch of resilience can secure earn the team some points at way.
