2021/22 GHPL: Asante Kotoko to miss five players ahead of RTU clash
Asante Kotoko will be without five key players when we welcome Real Tamale United at Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The Porcupines return to Premier League action in a 6 pm kick-off clash, looking to recover from last week’s defeat in the Kumasi derby against King Faisal.
Kotoko currently have four confirmed injuries but have been boosted by the return of Richmond Lamptey and Richard Boadu who missed the last fixture due to injury and suspension respectively.
Mudasiru Salifu is suspended for this fixture as a result of accumulated yellow cards, and there is also the absence of Samuel Boateng.
The striker, who has two goals to his credit this season, currently has his foot in a POP as he receives treatment for an ankle injury that may keep him out of action for a minimum of two weeks.
Andrews Appau is still recovering from his recent knee injury and will miss Wednesday’s matchday-8 clash in Kumasi, although he was involved in training sessions this week.
Appau has been formidable this season, teaming up well at the rear with skipper Abdul Ganiyu in our last four games.
Isaac Oppong, who leads our scorers’ chat with three goals, is currently recovering from an ankle injury and has been out of training over the past week.
The young goal poacher’s recovery has so far gone according to plan is it possible he will resume training next week.
Forward Andy Kumi remains our long-term injury absentee and he is not expected back anytime soon as he awaits surgery to correct a knee injury.
