2021/22 GPL Preview: Accra Lions vs Medeama
Accra Lions will square off with Medeama SC on Match Day 16 of the Ghana Premier League on Saturday.
The newcomers come into this fixture on the back of 3-1 defeat to Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park.
Lions have endured a tough debut season in Ghana’s top flight division.
They have won 4, lost 7 and drawn 4 of their matches and find themselves in the bottom half of the League table – one point above Techmian Eleven Wonders and 8 points ahead of Elmina Sharks who languish at the bottom with 8 points from 15 matches.
Meanwhile Medeama are brimming with confidence following their hard earned 1-0 win over Elmina Sharks at Akoon Park last week.
Godfred Kwadwo Asamoah’s solitary strike took them to the third spot with 26 points – 7 points behind Asante Kotoko who lead the League table with 33 points after 15 matches.
A win for Accra Lions would take them out of the relegation Zone while Medeama SC keeps an eye on a win to keep their place in the Top Four.
The match is scheduled for 3pm kick off at the Accra Sports stadium.
