2021 AFCON: Asamoah Gyan describes Ghana’s group as a tricky one
Black Stars legend, Asamoah Gyan has described Ghana’s group for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament as a tricky one.
Ghana on Tuesday was drawn in Group C and will face the likes of Gabon, Comoros, and Morocco at next year’s AFCON.
Speaking from the draw grounds in Morocco, Asamoah Gyan stressed that it is a tricky group for Ghana although he admits the Black Stars have a good chance of progressing to the knockout stage.
“I think it’s a tricky group, Morocco is out there, they conceded just one goal so they are a tough side.
“Ghana is there and I will be rooting for my country. We are up there [statistically] but we don’t know what to will happen. We have to stay focused and make sure we qualify from the group stage then think about winning the cup,” the former Black Stars captain said.
The 2021 AFCON is scheduled to be staged in Cameroon and will start on January 9, 2022.
