2021 AFCON: Fans will require proof of vaccination to enter stadia in Cameroon
Fans will be required to present proof of full vaccination against the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in order to be allowed into any stadia during the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
This is a decision taken jointly by AFCON 2021 Local Organising Committee, CAF, and Cameroon FA to ensure that everyone is protected from the deadly virus.
In a jointly released statement, CAF & Cameroon have confirmed signing a COVID-19 protocol document.
The document includes a plan to have 1,000,000 tests, health certificates & various other sanitary measures.
Because it was signed to WHO standards, the European Club Association has no legs to stand on over COVID-related postponement and threats not to release players for next month’s AFCON.
As part of the measures, supporters won’t get into Cameroonian stadia unless fully vaccinated and in possession of a negative antigen test 72H before games.
Also, the vaccination will be facilitated and testing will be rigorous at all times throughout the tournament.
