2022 FIFA WCQ: Ghana digs deep to secure services of talented attackers for Nigeria showdown
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) working with the newly formed technical team of the national team has managed to convince two new players to represent the Black Stars.
The players according to reports include Italy-based Felix Afena-Gyan and striker Antoine Semenyo who plays his football in England.
Ghana later this month will take on Nigeria in the final round of the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
After missing the 2018 world cup, the Black Stars are pushing to book a place at this year’s global showpiece that has been scheduled to be staged in Qatar.
To achieve that goal, new interim head coach Otto Addo has been working in the background to convince some talented players to agree to play for the Black Stars.
According to sources, after digging deep, the Germany-based gaffer has managed to get AS Roma attacker Felix Afena-Gyan and Bristol City forward Antoine Semenyo to accept an invitation to play for the Black Stars.
The two players are hence part of the Ghana squad that will start training on Tuesday in Kumasi for the first leg of the meeting against Nigeria.
