2022 FIFA WCQ: Nigeria coach Eguavoen will have headache choosing players for Ghana clash - Tijani Babangida

Former Nigeria international Tijani Babangida says the form of Super Eagles strikers including Osimhen, Ighalo, and Sadiq will make selection difficult for coach Austin Eguavoen ahead of Ghana clash in the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff later this month.

The first leg will take place at the Cape Coast Stadium whereas the second leg takes place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on March 25 and 29 respectively.

The winner of the tie will represent the continent at the World football showpiece which is scheduled to take place from November 21 to December 18, 2022, in Qatar.

Speaking ahead of the game, Babangida predicts that Nigeria will overcome Ghana and proceed to Qatar if the technical crew selects the right strikers for the crucial qualifiers

“There is no doubt that the current strikers in the Super Eagles are not doing badly in Europe,” Babangida told Ghanasoccernet.

“The likes of Osimhen, Ighalo, Sadiq, and others are banging the goals for their respective clubs and it’s a sign of good things to come for the team.

“Again, this will definitely give Eguavoen a serious headache in terms of who to select for the game against Ghana.

“If he gets the right strikers to start, then the team will pick the ticket for Qatar.”
