2022 FIFA World Cup playoff: Coach Otto Addo names Ghana’s starting eleven to face Nigeria tonight
Ghana head coach, Otto Addo has resorted to parade a strong starting eleven to face Nigeria in the first leg of the playoff of the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Germany-based tactician was appointed interim head coach for the Black Stars following the sacking Serbian gaffer Milovan Rajevac after leading Ghana to a disastrous campaign at the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
For his first game in charge of the team, Otto Addo is coming up against a star-studded Nigeria side tipped as favourites to win the playoff tie.
Ahead of the first leg meeting today, the coach has blended experience with youth as he hopes for a positive result.
Goalkeeper Joseph Wollacott has been named in post and will be protected by a back four that includes Alexander Djiku, Daniel Amartey, Denis Odoi, and Gideon Mensah.
Talisman Thomas Partey has been given a huge midfield role and is set to play together with Iddrisu Baba and Mohammed Kudus.
In attack, AS Roma wonderkid Felix Afena-Gyan has been given the leading role to spearhead the forward lone.
