2022 FIFA World Cup playoff: Yaw Yeboah, Joseph Aidoo return to Ghana squad to face Nigeria after missing 2021 AFCON
US-based Yaw Yeboah and Celta Vigo defender Joseph Aidoo have returned to Ghana’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff tie against Nigeria.
The two players in the group stage of the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup had key roles to play in some of the games.
Early this year, the two players were left out of the Ghana squad that played at the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Cameroon.
Ahead of the clash against Nigeria in the playoff round of the African qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, both Yaw Yeboah and Joseph Aidoo have been recalled into the Ghana team to help the Black Stars to book qualification.
The first leg of the playoff of the African qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup between Ghana and Nigeria is scheduled to be played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, March 25, 2022.
A first training session for the Ghana squad is expected to be staged in Accra this evening before a full session takes place in Kumasi on Tuesday.
