2022 World Cup: Black Stars are motivated to beat Nigeria in playoff games – Yaw Preko
Great Olympics assistant coach, Yaw Preko says the Black Stars players are eager and motivated to beat Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup playoff games after a disappointing AFCON campaign in Cameroon.
Ghana will host their rivals in the first leg game at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday, March 25.
Following the Black Stars’ poor performance at the 33rd edition of the continent’s most prestigious tournament, Preko believes the playing body are motivated enough to book a World Cup ticket.
“The players just can’t wait especially the new ones and those who couldn’t perform at the AFCON. I have been there before and know what I’m talking about,” Preko, a former Ghana international told TV3.
“Nigeria will find this tougher than what happened in the AFCON. They know what we are capable of doing to them in Kumasi,” he added.
The second leg of the playoff games will be hosted at the Abiola National Stadium on Tuesday, March 29.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles will arrive in the country on Thursday afternoon.
