AFCON 2021: Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso likely to miss Gabon clash
Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso could miss the Black Stars crucial match against Gabon in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday.
Wakaso, who ply his trade for Chinese side Shenzhen FC picked up a knock during the team’s training in Qatar.
He did not play a part in Ghana’s defeat to Morocco in the opening Group C clash.
Ahead of the teams second game against Gabon, Wakaso was present at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium for the team’s final training for the game but followed an individual training programme.
This means he is not likely to play for the four-time African Champions against Gabon tonight.
Black Stars will aim is to secure all three points against Gabon after their stuttering start. This encounter could possibly propel Gabon into the next stage of the competition if they beat Ghana.
However, it’s all or nothing for Ghana as they need a win to stand a chance to qualify to the round 16th stage of the competition.
