AFCON 2021: Jonathan Mensah, Boakye-Yiadom and two others joins Black Stars camp today

The Black Stars have been boosted by the arrival of four players in camp as they continue preparations for the upcoming AFCON tournament.

Jonathan Mensah of Columbus Crew, Genk’s Joseph Paintsil, Yeni Malatyaspor’s Benjamin Tetteh and Israeli-based Richmond Boakye-Yiadom joined their teammates in Qatar on Tuesday.

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac named a 30-man provisional list to prepare for the 2021 AFCON and will prune down the squad to 28 for the tournament proper.

At the moment, 19 out of the 30 players have reported to the team’s training camp in the Asian Country.

Meanwhile, English-based players of Baba Rahman, Andy Yiadom, Jordan Ayew, Jojo Wallocot and Thomas Partey will arrive on January 3.

The team will leave Qatar on January 7 for the tournament.

Black Stars have already started camping for the 2021 AFCON in Doha, Qatar.

They will play two games to give coach Rajevac the opportunity to assess his squad.

Ghana have been paired with Morocco, Gabon and Comoros at the 33rd AFCON tournament.

Black Stars playing their first match on January 10 against Morocco.
