AFCON 2021: Joseph Paintsil plays down pressure ahead of Gabon clash
Black Stars forward Joseph Paintsil has played down chants of excessive pressure ahead of their second group game against Gabon in the 2021 AFCON.
Painstil who impressed in Ghana’s tournament opener against Morocco insists every player should shoulder some of the pressure ahead the must win game against the Panthers.
Black Stars suffered a slim defeat in their opening clash to North Africans, Morocco at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium on Monday and will need to beat the Panthers to keep their round 16 qualification chances alive.
“It’s evident during training sessions that, the players are determined to go all out for the next game.
“We are really ready to sacrifice everything for the Ghanaian fans.
“I think the pressure should not be centered on me to deliver alone, every player needs to shoulder some of the pressure.
Painstil is expected to keep his place in the starting XI on Friday when Ghana come up against Gabon.
