AKWAABA: Frank Acheampong makes long awaited return to Black Stars

Frank Acheampong has made a return to the Black Stars squad for the first time in 5 years.

The Shenzen FC attacker has been invited to be part of Coach Charles Akonnor’s squad for upcoming friendlies next month.

Acheampong, 27, last played for the senior national football team in May 2018 in a 2-0 friendly win against Japan.

The former Anderlecht talisman has been knocking on the doors of national team handlers since with commendable performances for his respective clubs in China.

He has so far netted a goal in four games for his new side Shenzen FC.

Ghana will play Morocco and Ivory Coast next month in friendly encounters after the originally scheduled World Cup 2022 qualifiers had to be pushed forward due to Covid-19.
