Andre Ayew over the moon after clinching Qatari Stars League title with Al-Sadd SC
Ghana international Andre Ayew has shared his excitement after becoming a league champion with Al-Sadd SC in Qatar.
The former Olympic Marseille man joined the Qatari giants in the summer after parting ways with English Championship outfit Swansea City.
Today, he featured for Al-Sadd during the team’s matchday 18 encounter of the 2021/22 Qatari Stars League campaign.
On the matchday, the Black Stars forward scored twice when he equalized in the 62nd and 90th minutes respectively.
Courtesy of additional goals from Akraf Afif, Hassan Al-Haydos, Boualem Khoukhi, Santi Carzola, Baghdad Bounedjah, and Yousuf Abdurisag Al-Sadd SC cruised to a heavy 8-2 win.
The result means that Al-Sadd SC are the champions of the 2021/22 Qatar Stars League with two matches to play.
Sharing his thoughts via Twitter after the game, Andre Ayew stressed that he is proud to be part of the winning team.
“CHAMPIONS. Alhamdulilah!! Al-Sadd SC congratulations guys we made it! Proud to be part of this family. Big thanks to our fans. THANK YOU. The story continues,” Andre Ayew posted on his Twitter page.
