Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta unwilling to put hopes on Thomas Partey’s return to squad

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has refused to put his hopes on the return of Ghana international Thomas Partey.

The combative midfielder has been out with an injury in the last couple of weeks. Although he was not expected to feature again this season due to the thigh injury, he has already shown signs of the possibility of playing again this season.

Despite what has been described by many as a piece of good news for Arsenal, manager Mikel Arteta says he is not hopeful.

According to the gaffer, Although Thomas Partey has started gym training, news from his assessment by the medical team of the club is not great.

“Yes, the news that we got after a lot of assessments is not great. It’s not looking very positive for his availability this season, but we’ll have to wait and see because he’s trying to get back as quickly as possible, but at the moment we are not very optimistic about it,” the Arsenal manager said.

Up next for Arsenal, the team is set to face West Ham United in the English Premier League on Sunday.
