AS Roma youngster Felix Afena-Gyan rejects Black Stars call-up for AFCON 2021 – Reports
As Roma forward Felix Afena Gyan is expected to miss the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, Footballghana.com can report.
The 18-year-old made Milovan Rajevac 30-man provisional squad released last Tuesday.
Gyan, who left Ghana for greener pastures early this year has impressive since breaking into the Roma senior team.
His outstanding performance did not go unnoticed as the Serbian trainer named him among his charges for the continental showpiece.
But according to Kumasi-based Akoma FM, the Ghanaian youngster will miss the tournament since his agent and guardians are unwilling to release him.
Representatives of the player is reported to have written to the Ghana Football Association thanking them for the invite but insisted he is not ready to for the Black Stars at the moment.
Meanwhile, sources close to the Ghana FA say they will conditionally accept the player’s request if he agrees to be part of the World Cup play-offs.
