AS Roma youngster Felix Afena-Gyan is set to miss Bologna clash on Wednesday after testing positive for COVID-19.
Afena-Gyan gained attention last weekend after scoring twice against Genoa to help AS Roma earn an important win in the Serie A.
Jose Mourinho recently gave Gyan a pair of expensive shoes fulfilling a promise he made to Gyan during the game Genoa.
AS Roma announced in a statement that Felix Afena-Gyan had been infected with the virus ahead of the match.
The 18-year-old has been isolated in his home in Rome.
“The club can confirm that, following the latest round of molecular testing involving the first team squad, forward Felix Afena-Gyan has returned a positive test for COVID-19.” the statement reads.
“The relevant health authorities have immediately been informed.”
“The player, who has been vaccinated, is doing fine and has now begun isolating at home.”
