Asante Kotoko set to sack eight players ahead of new season

Asante Kotoko are set to sack eight players ahead of the start of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.

According to reports, the Porcupine Warriors will terminate the contract of skipper, Emmanuel Gyamfi, and defender Habib Mohammed due to what the club deems as unsatisfactory conduct.

Latif Anabila, who joined the club from Ashantigold last season, has been told by head coach Prosper Nartey that he will not be counting on him going forward.  Kwame Adom Frimpong has also been axed because the coach does not consider him as part of his plans.

The players who will be heading out on loan include Godfred Asiamah, Emmanuel Sarkodie, Osman Ibrahim, and Samuel Frimpong.

Ibrahim is attracting interest from King Faisal, where he spent a successful loan spell during the 2019/2020 season.

Medeama meanwhile, have shown interest in signing Samuel Frimpong permanently, but Kotoko are only reportedly interested in a loan.

The Porcupine Warriors have already signed eight new players ahead of the 2021/2022 season.

Inter Allies midfielder Richmond Lamptey, Maxwell Agyemang of Wamanfo Mighty Royals FC, Clinton Opoku from Phar Rangers, Samuel Boateng from Future Stars, Isaac Oppong of Bectero Sassana FC, and Samuel Appiah from Medeama SC, Augustine Agyapong and Richard Boadu have all joined.
