Ashantigold turns down Medeama offer to sign goalkeeper Kofi Mensah

Ghana Premier League side Ashantigold have turned down an offer from Medeama to sign goalkeeper Kofi Mensah ahead of next season.   

Mensah, who joined the miners from Wa Suntaa FC before the start of the second round of the domestic top-flight enjoyed a descent 2020/21 campaign.

He has become a subject of interest for clubs including the Yellow and Mauves following his swashbuckling performance in post last season.

The Tarkwa based club are in search of a replacement for Eric Ofori Antwi and Frank Boateng who left the club at the end of 2020/21 campaign.

The former Ghana U-20 goalkeeper is reported to have joined Legon Cities whereas Frank Boateng’s contract was terminated as the end of the season over an uninspiring performance.

However, according to Pure FM, Medeama, who identified Kofi Mensah as better option for the club bid has been rejected by the miners.
