Ayew makes injury return in Swansea defeat
Black Stars Captain Andre Ayew made a return to action after an injury scare in Swansea’s 1-0 defeat to Birmingham on Friday night.
Ayew, who limped off at full-time in Ghana’s 3-1 victory over Sao Tome & Principe last Sunday, was touted as a doubt for the Championship clash but was able to pass the fitness test in time to play for the Welsh-based club.
The Ghana Captain has been a livewire for the Swans this season scoring 14 goals in 37 appearances in the Championship.
Ayew who had not trained with his teammates prior to the clash was handed a starting berth as the club looked to secure promotion back to the English topflight.
The Swans were however unable to secure victory as a late penalty from Scott Hogan handed Birmingham victory.
Swansea are currently 4th place with 69 points after 38 games and are still well placed to secure promotion back to the English topflight.
