Barreto blasts Fabio Gama for committing ‘stupid’ penalty against Dreams FC
Asante Kotoko manager Mariano Barreto has blasted their star player Fabio Gama for committing what he describes as a stupid penalty in their 3-1 win over Dreams FC on Saturday.
The Porcupine Warriors whipped the Still Believe lads by 3-1 at the Len Clay Stadium on Saturday in a game that had a handful of fans at the stadium.
Agyenim Boateng shot Dreams FC in front after Fabio Gama handled the ball from an Ocran free kick.
Despite Kotoko staging a massive comeback to win the game by 3-1 amidst controversial officiating, the Kotoko manager has lashed his player for committing a stupid penalty which could have been avoided.
Barreto who looked unhappy with the manner the penalty came described the referee’s decision as a perfect one but did not spare his player for handling the ball in the box.
“Unfortunately we took a goal from a stupid penalty. It was a good penalty, no doubt,” Barreto said after the game.
