Bayern Munich out of the race for Jeremy Doku from Stade Rennais
Belgian youngster Jeremy Doku caught the attention of many big clubs across Europe with strong performances for his country at the Euro.
Deployed primarily as a winger, Doku can also play as a right winger or attacking right-back, bringing him to the attention of Bayern Munich. The Bavarians could make great use of a player with such versatility, especially if he can play as a right-back / right-winger, a crucial position in Coach Nagelsmann’s system.
Now, however, recent reports from AZ (original source: Sky Germany) suggest Bayern may be out of the race for Doku as the player was deemed too expensive. The advertised price is around 26 million euros, while the transfer market valuation puts its current value at 33 million euros. Stade Rennais want to keep the winger, with Doku’s contract running until 2025.
It seems unlikely the player will move anywhere anytime soon, and a move to Bavaria certainly looks highly unlikely. Bayern Munich do not seem ready to spend more money this summer, having already brought in Upamecano and coach Nagelsmann for a total of 67.5 million euros.
