Black Stars new boy Elisha Owusu wins Belgian Cup with Gent
Ghana international Elisha Owusu was in action when Gent defeated Anderlecht to clinch the Belgian Cup on Monday.
Owusu, who recently had his debut for Ghana lasted the entire duration to help his side win the title.
After a pulsating 120 minutes of football, the two sides had to be separated via the lottery of penalties with Gent emerging as winners.
Both teams created scoring opportunities during the game but were unable to score in normal time.
The game had to travel to penalties after a goalless draw with Gent beating Anderlecht 4-3 on penalties.
Elisha Owusu played a huge role in Ghana’s qualification to the 2022 World Cup to be staged in Qatar.
He featured in the second leg tie against Nigeria in Abuja where Ghana played a 1-1 draw to qualify.
Owusu will hope to make the Black Stars for the World Cup.
