Black Stars skipper Andre Ayew wins first trophy with Al Sadd
Black Stars captain and Al-Sadd player Andre Ayew won his first trophy for Al Sadd as his side defeated Al Rayyan 5-4 on penalties to lift the Emir Cup on Friday.
Ayew who before this game had scored in five consecutive games was handed starting role by Xavi Hernandez.
Yaccine Brahimi scored from the spot to give Al Rayyan a first half lead.
After the break, Santi Cazorla also converted from the spot from the 57th minute to restore parity for Al Sadd.
The game went straight to penalties after 1-1 in regulations time.
Al Sadd won 5-4 on penalties to emerged victorious on the day.
Andre Ayew was substituted on the 80 minutes after another impressive performance.
The trophy is the first for the Black Stars skipper since joining the club at the beginning of the season from Swansea City.
