Black Stars World Cup qualification is well timed – Kurt Okraku

Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku believes the Black Stars qualified for the World Cup at the right time considering the challenges that led to normalization in 2018.

The West African powerhouse has been drawn in Group H of this year’s global tournament, having qualified for the event after defeating Nigeria in the African playoffs.

The four-time African champions will face Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea in Group H.

The Black Stars take on Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in the opening game.

According to the FA capo, who believes Ghana’s qualification is well timed, the country needed a new energy to revive sports after the Anas Expose.

“It is a humbling experience to be honest, as an individual of course I have to be grateful to God for what he has done for us and for me but for the football family in Ghana I think that it is well timed because clearly our industry was heavily challenged in the period leading to the normalization in 2018 there about and we needed a new energy in our time to revive the sports in our country”

“So, I am extremely happy that this opening has given us the needed energy the Ghanaian football industry need” he said.
