Breaking: Asante Kotoko CEO cops 5 year football ban
Asante Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah will have to step down from his role imminently following a decision by the Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee to ban him for five years.
The decision taken by the GFA DC relates to Nana Yaw Amponsah’s role as a Director of Phar Rangers, a division one league club which has now been banned by the GFA.
Phar Rangers were handed the punishment by the DC after their initial decision to withdraw from all GFA organized football activities violated the Association’s rules and regulations.
Despite attempts by the club to rescind the earlier withdrawal letter, it proved too little too late with processes to grant their request already initiated by the GFA.
After the Disciplinary Committee heard the charges brought against the club, it took a decision to ban it from operating for five years.
The consequences of their actions also affect directors and shareholders of the club who are also banned from engaging in any GFA organized activity for the next five years.
