BREAKING: FIFA orders GFA to provide a response to South Africa replay protest
World football governing body, FIFA has ordered the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to respond to the protest made against Ghana by the South Africa Football Association (SAFA).
SAFA as reported by footballghana.com has officially made a complaint to FIFA over concerns about officiating during the clash between the Black Stars and the Bafana Bafana last Sunday.
On the matchday, a penalty awarded to Ghana saw Andre Ayew converting to steer the hosts to an important 1-0 win against South Africa.
With FIFA receiving the complaint, FIFA has issued a letter asking that Ghana responds to the protest before a committee sits on the case.
“In view of the foregoing, the Ghana Football Association has the opportunity to provide the secretariat of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee with any comments it deems appropriate on the aforementioned protest, if any, by 20 November 2021 at the latest, along with any document deemed necessary,” a latter from FIFA has said.
It adds, “Finally, for the sake of clarity, please be informed that the FIFA Disciplinary Committee will decide on the protest using the file in its possession (cf. art. 20 par. 5 of the FDC).”
