BREAKING NEWS: A doyen of Ghana football Jones Alhassan Abu is dead

Ghana football has been hit with another sad news of the death of one of the key architects of the football fraternity Jones Alhassan Abu.

Footballmadeinghana.com can confirm that the veteran football administrator who is the founder and bankroller of Division One League side Tamale City passed in in the capital city of Ivory Coast, Abidjan.

Jones, who is in his late 60s, is reported to have fallen ill while on football duties with Hasaacas Ladies during the WAFU Zone B Women’s Champions League.

He was hospitalized and is reported to have passed on in the early hours of Tuesday.

He has been a key industry player in the football fraternity and is credited with helping to establish all the football regulations governing Ghana football since the early 90s.

He was the campaign manager for team Game Changer during the electioneering period of Ghana Football Association and played a vital role in setting up the current regulations governing all competitions.

Until his death, he was a member of the management committee of the Ghana Black Star and has played similar roles with all the other national teams for over two decades.
