Breaking News: Stephen Appiah Asare meets Ashanti Gold SC President on switch to club

Tema Youth FC kingpin Stephen Appiah Asare is on the verge of joining giant’s Ashanti Gold Sporting Club ahead of the start of new season.

The 25-year-old winger on Wednesday met the President of the Miners, Dr. Kwaku Frimpong ‘Champion’ for a possible move to the club, footballghana.com can confirm.

The Ghanaian attacking midfielder has begun talks with the Obuasi based outfit ahead of the commencement of 2021/22 league season. His move is imminent having had negotiations well advanced.

Both parties have agreed a three and half year contract awaiting to meet the demands of Division One League side Tema Youth FC.

Asare has just a year left in his contract with the former Ghana Premier League side.

Having inspired the outfit to finish second in the 2020/21 Division One League Zone Three with sterling performance, the club will be hoping to make a good cash from speedster.

He is set to be signed as replacement for David Abagna who is close to joining newly promoted Ghana Premier League side Real Tamale United FC.

Stephen Appiah Asare in the 2020/21 league season scored 9 goals and provided 8 assists.

His enigmatic performance won him 8 Most Valuable Player awards, where he netted 3 goals in the MTN FA Cup.
