Crystal Palace boss Vieira lauds Ghanaian winger Rak-Sakyi

Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira has lauded Ghanaian winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi after making his competitive debut against Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.

The 18-year-old was introduced into the game with 15 minutes left to play as the Eagles lost 3-0 to Thomas Tuchel’s side at Stamford Bridge.

After the game, Vieira told Palace TV: “Giving opportunity to young players is part of the DNA of the football club.” He confirmed the Academy players featured in the squad today will continue to be a part of the first team, showing his commitment to developing younger prospects.

“He’s a good dribbler, can score goals as well so I wanted him to be a bit more high on the field, but he spent most of the time behind the ball defending. The quality of Chelsea made it really difficult for us to get on the ball.
