Crystal Palace striker Jordan Ayew talks about Patrick Vieira’s impact at club

Ghana forward Jordan Ayew says new Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira has a different style of play as he wants him to control more of their matches.

The enterprising forward is working under the new manager following the departure of Roy Hodgson at the end of last season.

Ayew was on top form when Crystal Palace defeated Championship side Reading FC 3-1 in a pre-season friendly game, scoring one of the goals for the side.

After helping his outfit pick a win, he disclosed the coach has a plan of making him control a chunk of their games.

“It’s different, because the gaffer came in and had a different style of play and wanted me to have more control of the game, and asked to create a lot of chances.

“He’s trying to keep me high up the pitch, so I have lots of energy. Obviously, me, Wilf [Zaha], Christian [Benteke], JP [Mateta] and [Jeff] Schlupp are just trying to put in the best conditions for us to make the difference up front.

Jordan Ayew endured a difficult 2020/21 season scoring just once in the Premier League and will be hoping to make amends in the upcoming season.
