Daniel Amartey set to miss Leicester’s game against Newcastle after testing positive for Covid-19
Ghana international Daniel Amartey is in line to miss Leicester City’s game against Newcastle United this weekend after testing positive to the Coronavirus (Covid-19).
The defender on Thursday night missed the big game against Napoli in the Uefa Europa League where the English side lost 3-2 in Naples.
Although Brendan Rodgers is hoping the Foxes will immediately bounce back to winning ways this weekend in the English Premier League, it has now come to light that he will need to do it the hard way.
This is because as many as seven first-team players have tested positive for Covid-19 as well as three of the staff at Leicester City.
Unfortunately, Ghana’s Daniel Amartey is one of the seven players now forced to self-isolate until the needed negative test is secured.
The other players affected include Kelechi Iheanacho, Ayoze Perez, Filip Benkovic, Vontae Daley-Campbell, Ademola Lookman, and Jannik Vestergaard.
Fortunately for Leicester City, star midfielder Youri Tielemans has recovered from his injury and is set to be in action for the Foxes against Newcastle on Sunday.
