Ex-Ghana international Augustine Arhinful kicks against the sacking of CK Akonnor
A former Ghana international, Augustine Arhinful has kicked against the sacking of Black Stars head coach CK Akonnor.
According to him, there is a short time for the national team to prepare for the next round of fixtures in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and hence this is a bad time to think about showing the head coach the exit door.
“This is not the best time to sack CK Akonnor. We can talk to him to improve on his performance. We have a short period to the next round of matches,” Augustine Arhinful told Nhyira FM in an interview.
Coach CK Akonnor in the last few days has come under criticism over his quality to lead the Ghana national team as its head coach.
Many Ghanaians are not happy with his handling of the Black Stars especially after the team lost 1-0 to South Africa last Monday.
Calls continue for him to be sacked to salvage Ghana’s campaign in the qualifiers to the next world cup tournament.
