Fit-again Mohammed Kudus hoping to stay in shape to play regularly
Ghana international, Mohammed Kudus has set his sight on staying fit for a longer time to play regularly for his Ajax Amsterdam outfit.
The highly-rated attacking midfielder suffered an injury setback late last year and as a result missed the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament although he was named in the Black Stars squad.
Now fit and already playing his football, Mohammed Kudus has reflected on his past injuries since moving to the Netherlands’.
Speaking in an interview, the youngster described the injuries as strange but stressed that he is happy to be back.
“I played 45 minutes with Jong Ajax, then 60 minutes. And I played a few minutes with the first team again. I feel completely good again, I can do everything and hopefully I can extend this now. It was good to feel the ball again and to enjoy it,” he told Ajax TV after his injury return.
Mohammed Kudus continued, “It was a strange injury, because normally with a rib injury you have contact with your opponent. I was disappointed again, but it happened and the most important thing was what my rehabilitation would look like. And to prepare myself mentally for that prepare.”
As a result of the injury setbacks, Mohammed Kudus has lost his place in the starting lineup of Ajax.
He however remains a key player for the Dutch giants.
