France football journalist gives verdict on Kwarteng and Gideon Mensah performances at Bordeaux
France football journalist, Laurent Crocis believes that Gideon Mensah has some quality but also thinks that Bordeaux needs to change their defensive system.
Bordeaux has not been strong defensively over the last few games, conceding an alarming 30 goals in 14 games with the likes of Enock Kwarteng and Gideon Mensah at the back.
Crocis thinks that a new system will go a long way to help the team concede less goals.
“How do you win a match when you regularly take more than 2 goals? Moreover, how to spoil a victory when we lead 2-0 that we are joined and we regain the advantage and take a behind? It’s simple ask the Girondins… […] Kwateng takes water in every match. And with each of their entries Gideon Mensah and Timothée Pembélé prove their level. Why not move to 4 behind with these 2 players on the sides and make a Gregersen-Mangas hinge? ” he quizzed on social media.
Mensah joined the club at the beginning of the campaign and is gradually making his mark in the French top-flight competition.
