GFA successfully concluded club licensing workshop for Premier, DOL & Women’s Premier League clubs
The Ghana Football Association has successfully concluded it’s annual Club Licensing Workshops for all elite clubs in the country.
The workshops started on Tuesday, August 31st, 2021 with Chief Executive Officers and Club Licensing Officers of all 18 Premier League clubs.
Division One League and Women’s Premier League clubs also took their turns on other days to learn the new additions to the Club Licensing regime and discuss concerns with the Members of the Club Licensing Board and the Department.
In attendance was the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Lawyer Prosper Harrison Addo who encouraged the clubs to abide by the new Club Licensing Regulations and emphasised the need for clubs to be compliant with the provisions of the new licensing regime.
Mr. Addo also explained some of provisions of the new Stadium Regulations and Catalogue of Sanctions which has been inculcated in the licensing process.
Members of the Club Licensing Committee led by the Chairman Dr. Kwame Baah-Nuakoh were also in attendance and provided responses to the observations and issues raised during last season and expectations for the coming season.
The chairman reiterated the rationale behind the various additions to the requirements and the assistance available to clubs to ensure full compliance.
The Club Licensing Manager of the GFA, Julius Ben Emunah took participants through the various criteria requirements and the new application system and format that clubs will have to follow in the application period.
The Club Licensing Decisions for the 2021/22 season shall be announced on Friday, October 1, 2021, after a through review of all the Five Thematic Criteria.
Clubs are also reminded of some of the key dates in the timetable for the Club Licensing process as already communicated:
1. Deadline for Submission of all Documents – September 15, 2021.
2. Inspection of Facilities – Thursday, September 16th to Sunday, September 26th, 2021.
3. Review Meeting Premier Clubs – Monday, September 27th, 2021.
4. Review Meeting DOL Clubs – Tuesday, September 28th, 2021.
5. Review Meeting WPL Clubs – Wednesday, September 29th, 2021.
6. Publication of Decisions – Friday, October 1, 2021.
