Ghana 2021 AFCON squad: Milovan Rajevac drops Roma teenager Afena Gyan from final squad
Ghana head coach Milovan Rajevac has excluded talented teenager Felix Afena Gyan from his final squad for the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The Serbian tactician a few weeks ago named a 30-man provisional squad to pitch camp in Doha, Qatar to prepare for the upcoming continental showpiece.
The squad that had so many rookies included AS Roma prodigy Felix Afena Gyan.
After making several assessments of players in and yet to report to camp, Coach Milovan Rajevac has settled on his final 28 man squad.
Although there are unresolved issues on the availability of talented attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus, he has been included in the final squad.
For Felix Afena-Gyan whose club AS Roma insists that he stays at the club to continue his development, he has been dropped from Ghana’s final squad for the upcoming tournament.
The delayed 2021 AFCON will commence in Cameroon on Sunday, January 9, 2022.,
