Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac runs for cover after Comoros defeat; says red card changed everything
Ghana head coach, Milovan Rajevac has lamented over Andre Ayew’s red card during the 3-2 defeat to Comoros on Tuesday night.
The Serbian tactician after seeing his Black Stars fail to win any of the first two games at the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) hoped to record a victory today to advance to the knockout phase.
Unfortunately, things did not go according to plan as Ghana lost 3-2 to Comoros after 90 minutes.
Speaking at his post-match press conference, Milovan Rajevac said the red card dished out to captain Andre Ayew changed everything his team had planned for.
“We did start how we wanted and we conceded an early goal and then the red card changed everything. I think Comoros deserved this win,” Milovan Rajevac said.
Courtesy of today’s defeat, Ghana has finished bottom of Group C at the 2021 AFCON.
The performance is abysmal and the Black Stars are out of the ongoing continental tournament in Cameroon.
