Ghana FA blocks media and public access to Black Stars training camp in Doha
Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken steps to block the media and public from accessing the Black Stars training camp in Doha, Qatar.
The Ghana male senior national team over the weekend officially opened camp in Doha as preparations commenced for the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Prior to the opening of the camp, the Ghana FA announced through a statement on its website that the media and the public will not be allowed to access the training camp of the Black Stars.
“The public is hereby informed that the camp base of the Black Stars in Doha- Qatar will not be open to the media and the public.
“The decision follows a directive from the Coach to have a serene camping atmosphere devoid of distraction during the team’s preparation for the upcoming TotalEnegies Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon,” a statement from the GFA said last week.
Meanwhile, the media will be granted access to the players and the Head Coach on January 6, before the team departs for Cameroon on January 7, 2022.
Already nine players are in the Ghana camp. The team trained on Sunday and will train for the second time this evening.
