Ghana has the talent and resources to win AFCON and World Cup – CAF boss Patrice Motsepe
The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Dr. Patrice Motsepe believes Ghana has got the talent and resources to annex both Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA World Cup titles respectively.
The Black Stars are yet to win the AFCON title but has come close to ending the trophy drought in the last decade, 2010 Angola losing to Egypt in the finals and in 2015 Equatorial Guinea- Gabon as the Stars lost to Ivory Coast on penalty shootout.
The four-time African Champions came close to reaching the semifinals of the biggest soccer mundial but lost the quarterfinal to Uruguay.
Motsepe who is on a two-day working visit in Ghana speaking during a breakfast meeting said Ghana as a country blessed with immense talent and a country capable of winning the FIFA World Cup in the near future.
“Ghana has produced some of the best footballers in the world. This country has the talent and resources to produce a national team that can win the AFCON, but also win a World Cup” he said.
